We are happy to announce that we are now a valued supporter of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF).

The ILF is a not for profit charity that is making a difference to the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families living in remote and very remote communities across Australia, through literacy programs that support culture, community life and language.

ILF is community-led and aims to support the literacy journey of remote communities through gifting thousands of new, culturally appropriate books - with a focus on early literacy and first languages as well as programs that inspire communities to tell and publish their own stories, in a language of their choice.

Access to books and particularly books in first languages is very limited in remote communities. How do you learn to read, if you can't access books?

To date ILF has supplied more than 537,100 books to over 400 communities, with at least 40% featuring Indigenous authors and illustrators. It is vital that children see their lives and culture reflected in the books they read. It instils a sense of belonging and strengthens identity and wellbeing.

It costs just $10 to put a culturally relevant book into the hands of a child in a remote community and by selecting ILF as your good cause to support, you can help make this possible.

"ILF is very grateful to Goodtel for sharing and supporting our work. As an independent charity we receive no government funding and rely solely on the generosity and support of organisations like Goodtel and your customers. A huge thank you for sharing our vision of equity of opportunity for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children living in remote Australia."
